Our offices in the Netherlands

The Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) and the British Government as a whole have a substantial presence in the Netherlands, reflecting – among other factors – the importance of the Netherlands as a key international partner for the UK, both politically and economically.

We have two offices in the Netherlands dedicated to delivering the FCO’s and the British Government’s international goals and objectives:

The British Embassy in The Hague
The Embassy is responsible for delivering the FCO’s and British Government’s policy goals in the Netherlands as well as services that support the British economy.  The Embassy is also responsible for managing the UK’s relationship with a number of important international institutions based in The Hague. The British Ambassador to the Netherlands is Mr Paul Arkwright. For more information about the Embassy’s work, you can view the pages on our Embassy Sections under Our Embassy in The Hague.

The British Consulate General in Amsterdam
The Consulate-General is responsible for delivering the essential services that support British nationals in the Netherlands (including passport services and support for distressed British nationals) and managed migration for Britain (including visa services).
